S&ME on 2008 ENR Top 500 Design Firms List

Raleigh, NC- Raleigh-based engineering and environmental firm S&ME, Inc. has again been recognized among the nation’s top such firms in 2008 rankings released by a national publication.

The lists are compiled from annual revenue surveys conducted by Engineering News-Record (ENR) magazine, a national industry weekly.

S&ME is ranked 86th on the list of Top 100 'Pure' Design Firms. The rankings are based on revenues of consulting engineering firms that do not provide construction. S&ME also placed 123rd on the list of Top 500 Design Firms in the nation (which includes firms with construction services).

S&ME, founded in Raleigh in 1973, employs 875 professionals and support staff in 22 offices in North Carolina, South Carolina, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Tennessee and Virginia.

In the past dozen years, S&ME has won 65 Engineering Excellence Awards in state competitions sponsored by the American Council of Engineering Companies. The firm specializes in geotechnical engineering, construction materials engineering and testing, environmental services and occupational health and safety. Projects have included major airports, bridges, highways, dams, military installations, industrial and commercial sites, and sports facilities including an NFL stadium.
