S&ME names new Vice Presidents

Raleigh, NC - S&ME, Inc. is pleased to announce the appointment of three new company Vice Presidents - Keith Brown, PE; Mike Cashio, CIH; and Angela Musselwhite, PE.

Brown, who has been manager of the Raleigh branch for the past year, joined S&ME in 1984. Brown earlier managed the firm’s Greensboro branch and the Raleigh engineering department. Among projects in which he played significant roles were the 1.3 million-square-foot Streets at Southpoint Mall, the Cumberland County Coliseum in Fayetteville in Fayetteville and a Dollar General Store distribution center in Virginia.

Brown holds a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering and a Masters of Civil Engineering degree from North Carolina State University.

Cashio, senior industrial hygiene consultant, joined S&ME in 1988.  Among major Charlotte area projects Cashio has managed are a 15-city block identification and assessment of asbestos, including abatement design and monitoring, that helped pave the way for the building of Bank of America Stadium. He also managed a lead inspection, risk assessment and abatement project involving over a thousand residences, plus indoor air quality investigations, chemical exposure evaluations and noise assessments for a major manufacturer of power generating equipment.

Cashio has a B.S. degree in chemistry from the University of Alabama, Birmingham and a lengthy list of accreditations and certifications.

Musselwhite, manager of the Charleston branch’s engineering department, joined S&ME in 1984.  Among Charleston area projects Musselwhite has managed, are quality assurance services required for $17 million of wharf enhancements for the SCSPA’s North Charleston Terminal pier 15.  She has also managed complex geotechnical explorations for multi-story additions to the Simons Center for the Arts at the College of Charleston, and geotechnical design and pre-construction value engineering for The Sanctuary, a 26-acre beach front development on Kiawah Island.

Musselwhite holds a Bachelor of Civil Engineering degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology.  In 2006, she was the Charleston Contractors’ Association “Engineer of the Year.”
