New branch manager will lead S&ME's Fayetteville operations

Fayetteville, NC - Brian C. McKean, P.E., has been named manager for the Fayetteville branch of S&ME, Inc., an 840-member engineering and environmental firm, which has operated an office in Fayetteville for 22 years.

The new branch manager replaces M. Dow Lassiter, P.E. who managed the branch for the past two years and has moved to S&ME’s new branch in Richmond, Virginia.

McKean holds a B.S. degree in civil engineering from the University of Florida.  He joined S&ME in its Charlotte branch in 2000, and moved to Fayetteville earlier this year as Construction Services department manager.

His experience includes project management, geotechnical engineering, seismic site classification, laboratory testing, slope stability and retaining wall design.  He has worked on projects involving a 1,200-acre residential development, a 36-story residential tower, and multi-story parking decks and office buildings.  McKean is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers.

S&ME’s Fayetteville branch has performed projects for area industries, local school systems, universities and numerous projects on Fort Bragg.

S&ME, founded in 1973, operates 22 branches in 7 southeastern states.  The firm has won 60 Engineering Excellence Awards from state chapters of the American Council of Engineering Companies and is ranked in the Top 100 Pure Design Firms by Engineering-News Record magazine.
