S&ME manager named Executive of the Year

Kingsport, TN-Daniel R. Boles, P.E., manager of the Tri-Cities branch of S&ME, Inc., has been named 2007-2008 Executive of the Year by the Tri-Cities Chapter of the International Association of Administrative Professionals.

Boles has managed the branch since 2005, and previously managed the firm’s Asheville, NC branch. He joined S&ME in 1999 with seven years of previous experience. S&ME is a geotechnical engineering and environmental services firm with 875 employees in six Southeastern states. Boles manages about 30 professionals and support staff in the Tri-Cities region.

Boles was selected for his leadership ability, human relations skills, professional achievements and participation in various civic and professional organizations. Boles will be a speaker at the chapter’s 2008-2009 Executive of the Year event next year (the 50th anniversary of the award program). He is the third S&ME manager receiving this honor in the last 15 years. He holds bachelor’s and masters’ degrees in civil engineering from the University of Tennessee.

S&ME, founded in 1973, employs 850 professionals and support staff in 22 offices in the Southeast. The firm has won 60 Engineering Excellence Awards from state chapters of the American Council of Engineering Companies and is ranked in the Top 100 Pure Design Firms by Engineering-News Record magazine.
