GEOTECHNICAL/CONSTRUCTION SERVICES PROFESSIONAL

Qualified candidates must have proficient verbal and written communication skills, a strong work ethic, and possess the ability to work as a team player An individual who wants to learn the technical and business skills to be a future leader in the office and the region.  Candidates must also have:

• BS or MS in civil/geotechnical and materials engineering
• 1 to 2 years of applicable work experience
• E.I. or E.I.T. certification preferred
• Valid drivers license with acceptable Motor Vehicle report (MVR)

Nashville is a smaller office so the professional will benefit from a wide range of experience in geotechnical engineering as well as construction materials testing and construction monitoring.

Exploration/Design
The geotechnical professional position duties will include: assisting in proposal writing; coordinating drilling efforts; site reconnaissance; locating borings in the field; logging geotechnical soil and rock samples; Gint® input; development of boring location plans and other drawings using AutoCAD LT®; evaluating and interpreting laboratory test data; performing calculations for foundation bearing, settlement, lateral capacity, pavement designs, etc; drafting of subsurface exploration reports; and project management.

Construction Services
The geotechnical professional duties will include: assisting in proposal writing; proofrolling observations; undercut evaluations; shallow and deep foundation inspection and testing; steel reinforcing observations; reviewing of engineering technicians’ field reports; reviewing field and laboratory test data; and project management.
