Greensboro-Randolph Toyota Megasite Water Tank
Car manufacturer, Toyota, is investing $6 billion to build a battery manufacturing plant at the Greensboro-Randolph Megasite to support future expansion. The facility will be Toyota’s hub for developing and producing lithium-ion batteries needed for its expanding portfolio of electrified vehicles. Production at the Greensboro-Randolph Megasite plant is slated to begin in 2025 with six battery production lines, four for hybrid electric vehicles and two for BEVs.
S&ME provided geotechnical engineering and coating services for the water tower at the site. The new water tank will hold 750,000 gallons inside of its 48-foot-tall bowl.
