Town of Cary Walnut Street Traffic Improvements

In June 2014, the Town of Cary selected S&ME to perform construction Contract Administration and project oversight services for the Walnut Street Pedestrian and Traffic Improvements Project.  Funded in-part by local Community Bonds, this $4.4 Million construction project adds an additional northbound travel lane on Walnut Street (SR 1313) across the US 1/64 overpass and includes improved lane alignment, the addition of sidewalks and pedestrian connections, curb and gutter, thermoplastic pavement markings, grading and signal work.  Construction began in August 2014, and S&ME is providing full-time onsite construction inspection and materials sampling/testing services, as well as representing the Town in an engineering capacity in administration of the construction contract.
