For nearly four decades, S&ME has provided an integrated approach to solving engineering, testing and environmental issues associated with complex construction projects. S&ME’s services apply to the nuclear utility industry across the entire lifecycle of nuclear generating stations.  We are especially experienced in geotechnical investigations for new facilities and construction materials testing for new and life enhancement projects. Our commitment to quality coupled with our wealth of skills and talent has fostered dynamic partnerships that have proved beneficial to our clients.

Quality Assurance Programs

S&ME maintains a 10 CFR 50 Appendix B and NQA-1 compliant Quality Assurance Program that has been implemented on numerous projects over many years and has been successfully audited by the Nuclear Procurement Issues Committee (NUPIC) and the Nuclear Industry Assessment Committee (NIAC). This allows us to perform safety-related work for nuclear power generating facilities and for DOE and NNSA projects.  S&ME also participates in the AASHTO Accreditation Program, which includes bi-annual inspections of our laboratories by the AASHTO Materials Reference Laboratory (AMRL) and the Cement and Concrete Reference Laboratory (CCRL).  Our laboratories are also audited by the US Army Corps of Engineers, Department of Energy, and State DOTs.
