S&ME Nashville Landscape Architecture Team Wins PARK(ing) Day Award!

PARK(ing) Day is a worldwide event that takes place every third Friday in September. In Nashville, The Civic Design Center hosts the local event every year. The goal is to share ideas on transforming parking spaces into public parks and green spaces to reimagine how urban space could be organized. This year, the event was virtual, and our Nashville Landscape Architecture team submitted a design called “Above it All: An Urban Treehouse.” It is designed to be a permanent design installation in four parking spots in Lower Broadway. With two ‘urban treehouse’ structures, the team tried to reimagine how the small space between the street and the sidewalk could be optimized sustainably and for the pedestrian’s entertainment and enjoyment.

Congratulations to the team for being awarded “Most Comfortable” design!
