The facility houses dining facilities, an auditorium, a ballroom, bookstore, recreation areas, and other amenities. The building meets LEED standards. The second phase included an L-shaped building that will connect to the southern rectangular structure. S&ME’s scope of services included:

  • Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR)
  • Earthwork
  • Foundation Observations:
  • Shallow Foundations
  • Micro-Piles
  • Drilled Piers
  • Tiebacks
  • Concrete
  • Masonry
  • Structural Steel
  • Fireproofing (including Intumescent Coatings)

S&ME’s geotechnical engineers were consulted regarding drilled shaft capacities when end-bearing shafts did not encounter suitable bedrock. S&ME provided opinions regarding drilled shaft capacities based on skin friction of bedrock encountered at the site.
