Vanderbilt Graduate Student Housing

S&ME is currently working as a consultant to Lendlease to develop graduate student housing for Vanderbilt University. The project will consist of housing for approximately 605 beds for graduate and professional students. A major component of our scope is the design of a 72” combined sewer line to be installed within the Broadway right-of-way. The new combined sewer provides additional storage capacity in a grossly under-sized CSO network and required working closely with Metro Water Services to develop the design and materials of construction. In addition, this project required working closely with TDOT since the work will be performed within TDOT right-of-way. S&ME provided Boundary and topographic Surveying, Geotechnical Investigation, Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessment, Planning and Entitlement Services, and Site Civil Engineering. The design duration was critical, in order to complete the construction by July 2022, so that students may move in prior to the semester beginning. The design was completed exactly on time.
