Cane Creek

The project involved the abandonment of a section of exposed natural gas pipeline in Cane Creek, near Old Fort, McDowell County, North Carolina. A new permanent easement was established which crossed Cane Creek and a low water crossing, utilizing Armor-Flex concrete block mat was installed to provide access for maintenance vehicles. The remainder of the creek bank where the abandoned gas line had been exposed was restored to a stabilize the creek banks.
