Port Canaveral Cove Visioning

S&ME led a multi-disciplinary visioning effort for Port Canaveral to establish the theme and character for its Cove development. At the core of the visioning process is a robust public outreach program. This effort builds on the strengths of the existing Cove to develop a successful, market-driven activity center and create a destination that contributes to the economic success of the Port, the surrounding community,and the region.

The visioning effort will ultimately become the framework of the architectural, hardscape, site furnishings, and landscape components of the retail, restaurant, and commercial village. It will become the basis of the Cove’s design standards.

The public outreach program itself was conducted in a collaborative fashion that included Port staff, C&S companies, S&ME, and Sooner Development. Key to the successful completion of the master plan was a focused public outreach process that sought to engage the community and elicit community input. The public participation component included a series of workshops and one-on-one meetings with stakeholders.
