431 Highway Bridge Replacement

The project consisted of replacing four bridges and improvements to Old Highway 431 in Owens Cross Roads, Madison County, Alabama including widening, bike lanes, a sidewalk, and drainage updates.

The improvements included removing the existing pavement structure, widening each lane to 12 feet, adding 4-foot wide bike paths on each side of the alignment, a guardrail and sidewalk on the left side of the alignment, and drainage ditches to improve safety and mobility.

Our team in Huntsville team provided geotechnical exploration, foundation and slope study, earthwork testing, and concrete testing services. Reports included geotechnical recommendations for general site development and grading, design and construction of foundation systems, and flexible and rigid pavement design.
