CATS North Davidson BOD Facility

CATS North Main

Built in 1981, the North Davidson Bus Facility includes a two-story administration/ operations building and three-level maintenance building. In 2010, the Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) received $20.7 million stimulus through the Transit Capital Assistance Urbanized Program. CATS renovated the 28-year-old bus facility to provide sufficient space and support for operations and maintenance of up to 200 transit buses.

S&ME provided construction materials testing and special inspection services for the maintenance building renovation. Our team also provided CMT and special inspection services for the construction of a new, multi-level staff parking deck. S&ME provided daily construction observations and reporting of all construction trades work and progress directly to CATS. The renovations improve operations and update facility conditions, including the upgrade of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
