CVG Airport Roadway GPR
Our geophysicists at S&ME conducted a Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) survey to assist in identifying variations in the pavement thickness of an existing parking area at the Cincinnati Airport. GPR uses electromagnetic waves and measures the travel times of the wave reflections showing the boundaries between materials with different dielectric properties. For high-speed and pavement evaluations, a vehicle-mounted horn antenna is typically used. The GPR data is supported by attached global positioning systems (GPS) and pavement cores performed by others.
